Fellowship program

A fellowship program for outstanding post-doctoral researchers from China and India in Israeli universities

As part of the comprehensive plan to strengthen ties with India and China, in the academic year of 2012/13, the Planning and Budgeting Committee (PBC) of the Council for Higher Education, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, began operating a fellowship program for outstanding post-doctoral researchers from China and India.

Goals of the program:

  1. Strengthening ties with India and China, while encouraging academic and research collaboration with those countries.
  2. Increasing the number of outstanding post-doctoral researchers in Israel, while expanding research infrastructure in Israeli universities.

The PBC awards outstanding post-doctoral researchers from China and India with fellowships for a period of up to three years. A Steering Committee, appointed by the Chairman of the PBC, is entrusted with the academic assessment of candidates and the selection of fellows.

To date, under the auspices of the program, 346 fellowships have been granted to Chinese and Indian post-doctorate researchers.

Please note: The application process for the PBC scholarship for the academic year 2017/18 has commenced. The application to the programs is done directly via the Israeli universities. See the detailed guidelines below.
