Israeli higher education institutions will participate in seven Capacity Building in Higher Education projects selected under the 2016 Erasmus+ Call for Proposals. Three of these projects are coordinated by Israeli institutions (Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, Kibbutzim College of Education, Gordon Academic College of Education). In total, the projects, which include 19 Israeli higher education institutions, will receive over 7 million Euros to fund their activities.

For the first time under the Erasmus+ programme, Israel will collaborate with Asia, including leading universities in India and China. These international collaboration projects will enable Israeli higher education institutions to enhance their quality and to develop innovative programs in areas of high national priority. Furthermore, the partnerships will bolster the international academic relations of Israeli HEIs.
