The institution, which is named for Arthur Ruppin and was originally called “Midreshet Ruppin”, was established in 1949 in order to supply management education for the agricultural economy – the Israeli kibbutz and moshav. In 1975 the school was granted a permit from the Council for Higher education to open an academic program of study. There are four schools in the Center: economics and business administration, social and communal sciences, engineering and marine sciences. There are 15 academic departments with programs leading to bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The Center’s vision is to be a leading and innovative academic institution, committed socially and with regional and national priority. The aim of the Ruppin Academic Center is to bequeath and to preserve high level academic knowledge; to offer a variety of academic programs for bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and to shape the business, social and technological leaders of the future while stressing the learning experience and the value of contributing to society.
