Applied Research and Academic Entrepreneurship

In 2023, a 100M NIS joint initiative with the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology was approved. The initiative, whose goal is to promote applied research and transfer of knowledge, will support Proof of Concept (PoC) research in all academic fields. The program will run for three years, with the first Call for Proposals (in Hebrew) to be published soon.

Between 2018-2022, a ~70M NIS initiative in cooperation with the Ministry for Social Equality provided financial support for the establishment and upgrade of Academic Entrepreneurship Centers. The goal of the initiative, in which 7 universities and 8 colleges participated, was to promote entrepreneurial education and culture in academia. In 2021, a complementary 2-year project was launched, which provided financial support to the Proof of Concept stage of promising student ventures.
