Scholarship Program for Outstanding Postdoctoral Students

The program goals: To help outstanding postdoctoral women students from Israeli research universities to pursue postdoctoral studies at leading universities abroad, with the goal of integrating them when they complete their studies as academic faculty members at the universities.

In the long run, to increase the number of female academic faculty members at Israeli research institutions. The program prioritizes knowledge fields where there is a shortage of women on the academic faculty such as computer science, engineering and physical sciences.

The scholarship period: The program grants the recipients biennial scholarships for two academic years.

The amount of the scholarship is 30-40 thousand dollars a year, depending on the recipient’s family status, and is designated for assisting the funding of the following expenses: living expenses, flight tickets for the recipient and her family, and relocation expenses for the family’s move abroad. The scholarship is a complementary scholarship for other funding sources the scholar obtains.

Number of scholarships: 20 scholarships a year.

The scholarship period: The program grants biennial scholarships for two academic years.

The amount of the scholarship is 20,000 dollars a year, and is designated to assist the funding of the following expenses: Living expenses, flight tickets for the recipient and their family, and relocation expenses for the family’s move abroad. The scholarship is a complementary scholarship for other funding sources the beneficiary obtains.

Number of scholarships: Every year the PBC grants up to 14 scholarships.
