בישיבתה ביום כ"ז באייר תשע"ז (23.5.2017) אימצה המועצה להשכלה גבוהה את המלצת ועדת המשנה להבטחת איכות, והחליטה לאשר את הרכב הוועדה להערכת איכות מרכזי מחקר בתחום מדעי הים.  ההרכב שאושר כלהלן:

1. Prof. Colin Brownlee – Director, The Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom Professor within Ocean and Earth Science, National Oceanography Centre Southampton at the University of Southampton, UK-Committee Chair
2. Prof. Oscar Schofield – Department Chair, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, Canada
3. Prof. Linda Duguay – Prof Linda Duguay is the Director of the University of Southern California (USC) Sea Grant Program and Director of Research for the Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies at USC, USA
4. Prof. Peter Schlosser – Department Chair of Earth and Environmental Engineering, Deputy Director and Director of Research, The Earth Institute, Columbia University, USA
5. Prof Mike Kingsford – Distinguished Professor, College of Science & Engineering, James Cook University, Australia. A world leader in marine biology and coral reef science.
